A clean, final Microsoft Word document (.docx) is the absolute best source file. Please avoid sending PDFs for standard reflowable books — extracting text from PDFs often introduces hidden errors and formatting inconsistencies that require significant additional work to resolve.
 

For standard novels and non-fiction, no — and that’s intentional. eBooks are “reflowable,” meaning the text adjusts to the reader’s screen size and font preferences. If you need your book to look exactly like the print edition with locked layouts, you need our Fixed-Layout (FXL) conversion service instead.

We can format your files to be DRM-ready. However, the actual DRM encryption is applied by the retailer (Amazon or Apple) when you upload the file to their publishing dashboard — not during the conversion process itself. We ensure your files are fully compatible with each retailer’s DRM system.
